I find this place to be a very entertaining place to visit. I don't even own a record player I just like to feel like I stepped back in time. The owner is a loud mouth who says exactly what he thinks but harmless. I find him to be both refreshing and entertaining. If your easily offended you might want to stay out of this place. If you want an experience, stop in and start a conversation.
Us: "It barely makes any noise. The sound cuts in and out. We narrowed the issue down to it being the needle."
Man: "Let me check".
Man: "No, doesn't look like we have this one."
Below is the dialog to a visit to the store. This is not a joke. This is not paraphrased or altered in any way:
I go to see the owner about once a week on average, he is one of the most entertaining people I have ever met, loads of great stories, all u have to do is just listen. If u find him offensive and cant handle the things that he may say, then u all need to just stay home and never leave your house. Never judge people or assume what may or may not have happened in their lives to act a certain way. I guess everyone has to act politically correct these days. Maybe you are all stupid. Fu**king idiots.
The owner is a very mean. I looked through some records and I found some broken ones so I put them aside. When I was done I put the broken them back. Then he came up to me and yelled at me saying why would you put them back, then asked me am I stupid. I will never go there again.
Us: "No why, we're just wondering if you had the needle in stock. All we need is a replacement. Do you have it in stock?"
Us: "Hello, we were wondering if you had this needle in stock" (hands the man the needle).
Man: "Well that's your f**king problem then!" (throws the needle down on the table)."
We walk up to the counter and here is the dialogue:
Man: (looks at us). "Are you f**king with me?"
Once again, this is not a joke. This is really what happened on our trip to this store. This, literally, ruined the rest of our day. I, honestly, don't know how bad of a day or what you could've possibly been through in your life to treat another person with such lack of respect. I really don't know how this place makes any money.
We walk into the store looking for a new needle for an older turntable of ours, we thought they would be able to help.
(turns around and looks through a storage box of needles for about 5 seconds.)
We walk out of the store. Not looking back.
The owner is a selfish, very rude, and very offensive man. He said a black racial remark out load. And if you are easily offended, don't go there. For me I was very interested in a record I found there and when I went to buy it, he looked at it and told me I like it, I think i'm going to keep it and didn't sell me it. If he wanted that record why did he have it for sale then? I was highly mad and walked out. DON'T GO THERE.
Man: "So, what the f**k is wrong with this one then?"
*** More bad commentary later ***
Us: (in shock). "No! We were wondering if you had a replacement. This one doesn't work correctly."
Man: "Do you have people mess with you? Do people f**k around with you alot?"
